Why join WYC?

Why join Working Youth Conference?

1) Because everyone wears Adidas in WYC!

Yes, you'll get a three stripes t-shirt. This is in WYC 2013 in Bintulu.

Now, let's get serious, Why join WYC?

2) Allow some quiet time for yourself.
We live in a noisy world, like it or not, we are being bombarded with various types of media promoting different ideas to us, just go on FB, the number of posts shared and reshared. I wonder did they even put a filter on the posts.
How can WYC be quiet time for yourself? While it's there's so much activities and music and songs and chit chatting going around?
1 of the main activity for WYC that prominently stood out is going to be the Praise and Worship (P&W). You probably are familiar with this, P&W allows you to have your own personal time intimately with your soul and God, thru the musics, you can enters into a deeper awareness of yourself, it's open up a whole new dimension, you speak to God and praise Him sincerely although you remains silence and just listening you know it's a heavenly place on earth. Through here, amidst the 'noise' you hear, it is where you get into a quiet moment with yourself, even more, with His presence. You'll grow into a deeper understanding of yourself.

3) Learning about the society and how to give back.

Back in 2013 WYC, we conducted an outreach activity to the urban poor area along Jalan Kidurong Bintulu. We all play an important role in the society, be it business owner, workers, or volunteers we ought to provide helps to others, it's the basic human instinct to help. That is why helping others makes us feel good, it is encoded in our biology. The outreach program provides an insight to modern day social issues where you will chat with the people, getting to understand different situations of life. It may enlighten you and it will definitely help you to understand more about yourself and how your can contribute back thru various means.

4) Providing you a deeper meaning of work.
After all, it's about working youth (self employed included). Youth is a special category of people, they holds the future, energetic and hopeful for it. Thus, oftentimes it may seems like a roller coaster rides of life, I realise after attending WYC, it provides me a sense of purpose for work, why I works? Why it is important that I must perform in my works? And that every challenges I face, it's an opportunity for me to perform. And most importantly, God's grace in all of this.

5) Getting to know more people.
For me, this is the fun parts as I'm still new in town, getting to know more people expanded my network and useful. It build meaningful friendship and supports.

There are many other reasons to join WYC, and it's all about getting to know more about you, after all, knowing God is knowing life.
Why not experience it yourself? Take some time off, do good to yourself, join WYC to find out more about yourself and building a relationship with God that will definitely help you in your life and career. And may you be blessed always.
